ResortKeeper is built by one person, on purpose. No board waiting on a return, no growth team inventing new fees. That’s why the price is flat and why a bug report gets an answer from the person who wrote the code.
If terms ever change, existing shops keep the deal they signed up under.

Why it runs on your machine.
Every record lives on the computer at your front desk and opens the moment you click it. The cloud keeps your other devices in step and holds a backup — it is not in the path between you and your own data.
“What happens when the internet goes out?” Nothing, at the front desk. Records are stored on the computer in front of you, so check-ins, bookings, the run board and client lookups keep working. Changes queue up and sync to the cloud when the connection is back. The parts that genuinely need the internet — card payments, sending email — wait until then.
What if you get hit by a bus?
Fair question for a one-person company. Your records are on your own machine and exportable at any time, so the software going away could never take your data with it. A founder license — a one-time purchase that keeps working without a subscription — is coming for facilities who want that certainty in writing, and the terms are already published in section 4a of our Terms of Service.
“Can I get my data out?” Yes, from inside the app, any time — the Export Data button on the dashboard writes out your facility’s records as a file you keep. Your data is on your own machine to begin with; the cloud holds a copy for backup and to keep your other devices in step. If you cancel, the cloud copy is deleted 90 days later.
